CLASS 70 - QUILTING
Sample fabrics and floss must be attached to each entry in this class. Quilters, please read the rules for the O.A.A.S. competition on page 51-54 of the prize book.
CLASS 70A: Hand Quilting
Quilts must not be older than two years. Sample fabrics and floss must be attached to each entry.
NOTE: Indicate the name of the pattern on quilts where applicable
Crib bed size – 36” x 60” (91cm x 152cm)
Twin bed size – 68” x 86” (173cm x 218cm)
Double bed size – 72” x 90” (183cm x 229cm)
Queen bed size – 90” x 180” (220 x 275 cm)
Sections - all quilts in these sections must be min. 72"x90"

CLASS 74, 75, & 76 - YOUTH
Prize money for Class 74 & 75: 1st - $4.00, 2nd - $3.00, 3rd - $2.00
Prize money for Class 76: 1st - $5.00, 2nd - $4.00, 3rd - $3.00
First prize winners will also receive a strip of Midway tickets courtesy of Townsend Amusements, which must be picked up at the Secretary's Ofice by noon on Monday, October 10th, 2011.
 
CLASS 74A
OPEN TO BOYS AND GIRLS AGED 5 YEARS AND YOUNGER
Sections
1. A Scarecrow made with Play Doh (displayed on a disposable plate)
2. Treasures from a Walk, displayed on a firm base no larger than 12” x 12”
3. A Placemat decorated by Vegetable Prints
4. Dress your favourite stuffed animal for Halloween
5. On sturdy paper print out your First Name and decorate the letters with seeds, jewels, cereal, etc.
6. Make a Flower on a Stem using any material
CLASS 74B
OPEN TO BOYS AND GIRLS AGED 6 TO 9 YEARS OLD
Sections
1. Make a picture with a footprint and 2 handprints, using paint, and decorate it to look like an Angel
2. Decorate an Ice Cream Cone to look like a Clown using edible decorations (display on a small plate)
3. Make a picture using pieces of Felt and glue it to a surface no larger than 9” x 12”
4. Make a plasticine or Play Doh pumpkin with details
5. Make a Person out of Buttons and glue onto a paper plate
CLASS 75
OPEN TO BOYS AND GIRLS AGED 10 TO 13 YEARS OLD
Sections
1. Decorate a Cereal Box to be used as a Halloween Loot Bag
2. Make a Wooden Spoon Witch
3. Make a Lantern using a Mason Jar
4. Make a Wreath using Sea Shells
5. Using Pine Cones, make and decorate a Christmas Tree at least 8” tall
CLASS 76
OPEN TO BOYS AND GIRLS 14 TO 19 YEARS OLD
Sections
1. Make an Inukshuk out of any medium, display on a sturdy base – must be able to stand on its own.
2. Make a Duct Tape creation, no larger than 12” x 12”
3. Carve a Jack O’Lantern out of Soap
4. An Article of Handmade Jewelry, mounted - do not use glue to mount.
5. Make a "CAN-imal", an animal made out of cans
6. Make a Decorated Scarecrow Head out of Paper Maché
7. Design and Build a Model Bridge
CLASS 85 - YOUTH SPECIAL POETRY
CLASS 85A
Open to boys and girls aged 6 to 9 years of age.
The subject of the poem to be either Autumn or Thanksgiving. It must be two (2) stanzas in length and rhyming.
Prize Money: 1st - $5.00, 2nd, $4.00, 3rd - $3.00
CLASS 85B
Open to boys and girls aged 10 to 13 years of age.
The subject of the poem to be either Autumn or Thanksgiving. It must be two (3) stanzas in length and rhyming.
Prize Money: 1st - $6.00, 2nd, $4.00, 3rd - $3.00
CLASS 85C
Open to boys and girls aged 14 to 19 years of age.
The subject of the poem is to be writer's choice. It must be four (4) stanzas in length of either rhyming or blank verse.
