RULES AND
REGULATIONS
FOR COMPETITIONS
IN THE
2007 WOODBRIDGE FAIR

1. |
All entries must be in the
hands of the Secretary
by October 5, 2007, 4:30 p.m., unless otherwise stated in the prize list. |
|
2. |
The Society will not be
responsible for any printing
or other obvious errors in this prize list. |
|
3. |
An exhibitor's fee of $5.00
will be charged each
exhibitor. If you do not have an entry number, one
will be supplied to you at the Secretary's office. |
|
4. |
The Secretary will be prepared
to receive entries on
and after September 5th. Entries may be sent by mail
enclosing the $5.00 entry fee. Additional forms are available
online as well at www.woodbridgefair.com

5. |
Any person changing or removing
entry tags
from goods or exhibition, or in any way attempting
to defraud any exhibition, shall be subject to a fine
from $1.00 to $100.00 on conviction thereof. |

6. |
No animal or article intended
for competition shall
necessarily entitle its owner to a premium unless
deemed worthy of such by the judges. |
|
7. |
No exhibits shall not be
removed from the grounds
before 4:30 p.m. on last day of fair, under penalty
of losing prize money. |
|
8. |
Any person or exhibitor who
interferes with the Judges
or Directors while in discharge of their duties or who
afterwards, on the premises of the Society, uses any
contemptuous language to any of the Directors or Judges,
in consequence of any award made or not made to him/her
or them, shall forfeit the rights to any premiums to which
he might otherwise be entitled and may be excluded
from exhibiting at the next annual exhibition. All
decisions of the Judges will be final. |

9. |
Every animal, or article
exhibited must be the bona fide
property of the exhibitor, and all agricultural produce
must actually be raised by and be the property of the
exhibitor and the growth of the present year.
A statutory declaration shall be made to that effect,
if required. |

10. |
Manufactured articles must be
made or produced by
exhibitors themselves or at their expense by regular
employees during the present year and entered in the
name of the manufacturer or producer only. Entries
made by a regular agent for one or more manufacturers
must pay an entrance fee for each manufacturer. |

11. |
No extra entries will be
allowed unless quite
distinct from anything named on the list.
If premiums for extras are recommended by the
Judge the amount of such prize, if any, shall be
determined by the Directors. |

12. |
The Director in any class has
power to rule out
of ring any animal that becomes out of control. |
|
13. |
No person shall be allowed to
enter for exhibition more
than one specimen in any one section of a class of
manufacturing or produce. |
|
14. |
The Society will, as far as
possible, take care of all
articles on exhibition but will not hold itself responsible
for any loss. All exhibits are at the owner's risk. |
|
15. |
When requiring information
about prize money,
write to the Secretary or phone 905-265-1782. |

16. |
Donations are subject to change
without notice,
but they will be replaced with something of equal value. |
|
17. |
In case of bad or unfavourable
weather or other reasons
causing the receipts to fall short of paying the expenses
and all prizes in full, after paying the expenses
a proportionate amount, exclusive of membership,
will be deducted from such prizes to enable the Directors
to balance the accounts without loss. |

18. |
A majority of the Executive
Committee must
approve the cancellation of any class due to weather conditions. |
|
19. |
While the Directors of this
Agricultural Society will
use every available means to prevent accidents in
and about the grounds, it must be distinctly understood
that all persons going into or upon the exhibition
grounds or parking lots must personally assume all risk
of accidents or injury from any cause whatever. |

20. |
All exhibits sent in by
exhibitors, will be displayed by Directors in charge, but
must be called for and picked up between 4:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
on the last day of the Fair. |

21. |
The Directors will take
precautions, under the
circumstances, to insure the safety of articles
and livestock entered for competition. The owners
themselves must take the risk. Should any livestock
or articles be injured, lost or stolen, the directors will
not be responsible therefore. Committees will not be
responsible for any accidents. |

22. |
In case of protest, it must be
made in writing and
deposited with the Secretary on the day of the Fair.
It must state plainly the cause of complaint and
be accompanied with a deposit of twenty ($20.00)
dollars which shall be forfeited to the Society in case
of the protest not being sustained. |

23. |
To conform with the City of
Vaughan By-laws and the Liquor Control Board of Ontario -
No Smoking in barns or tents and No Alcoholic
Beverages on grounds or barns. Exhibitors who do not
follow this policy will not be permitted to exhibit and prize
money will be withheld. Vendors who do not follow this
policy, will be terminated and not allowed to sell their
products for duration of the Fair. |

24. |
The statute provides that the
Society shall have control
of grounds and for a distance of 300 yards surrounding.
Privileges for refreshment booths and for sale of goods
on or adjacent to the grounds is prohibited by Provincial Law. |

25. |
All cheques issued in
payment of prize money must be
cashed by MARCH 31st of the following year. (2008) |
